Yep, they were more frightened than normal coming out of the shelter today. Don’t know why, but I am sure it has to do with the warm and fuzzy place they called home before. If it can be called that. It would break people’s hearts to see some of these dogs when exiting the shelters, not that the shelters are bad themselves, just so over whelming to the dogs. All the strange sights, sounds and smells. It’s just terrifying to some. On top of that, if they came from an abusive or neglectful background, that just compounds the problems. Sometimes it can take weeks at a foster’s home to get them somewhat acclimated to people again. And sometimes they can’t undo the damage done to them. But the fosters and rescues continue to try, one dog at a time.<\/p>\n
