I found out that when she was turned in to the shelter, she was all bloody from jumping out of the back of the pickup that they dropped her off from while it was moving. Now I know that if a dog is in the back of a pickup, the dog must be properly secured just so that doesn’t happen. The shelter staff treated her for all the cuts and abrasions and she has healed up fine. Were they cited for their lack of securing Mona? I don’t know, but they should have been. Since they were on the way to dump her at the shelter, I am sure they really didn’t care one way or the other.

I pulled Mona from the Camarillo shelter to go to medical boarding at Blue Cross Animal Hospital for a minor case of kennel cough.
