Yes, that just about sums it up for this cat. See, he was abandoned on the street when his owner died; neighbors had been feeding him, but the old family wanted him gone. Off to the shelter was his next step, but in stepped a very resourceful rescue person who found Smokey a wonderful place to stay, funded his transport, vet check ups, everything. I picked him up at his former dwelling, still sitting there waiting for his caregiver to return. So sad. We loaded him up and had an uneventful drive to the northern California rescue. Smokey was a little scared with all the sudden changes, as any cat would be, but once inside he settled right in. He will be in isolation for about 2 weeks then he can join the general population as one of the crew. So deserving, so lucky.<\/p>\n
